Hope this isn't too stupid a question, but I bought some verbatim digital movie dvd-r. When I burned a movie, it appeared to still have a ton of room left on it. It doesn't say on the disk, but how do I find out how many gigs it holds? I tried putting in my comp, but it doesn't tell me. I looked on the net at their site, no luck. Thank-you

Verbatim digital movie quality dash 4x:
These should code as MCC-01rg20,DVD-5- pretty good media.

I take it you are looking at the dye side of the disc, after it is burned. Movies are different sizes.
Some are DVD-9 and some DVD-5.Depending on what programs you use and what you cut out of the movie, the larger DVD-9 movies will have to be compressed to fit the DVD-5 blanks. If you take an original DVD-5 movie, cut out the extras, then you'll have a lot of extra room on that blank.

A normal DVD-5 blank disc will tell you it can only hold 4.7 gigs.Actually after all the conversions of the byte,a blank DVD-5 can only hold about 4.38 gigs of data max.

If you ripped the original to your harddrive, then that folder will tell you the size of it.

What programs are you using to rip/compress/and burn?

Hey, thanks! What a dummy I am! It turns out the disk is a 4.7gig. The latest movie I burned took up the right amount of space. I wonder why the other one looked so small? Anyways, thank-you for taking the time to help me, I know you guys are busy helping a lot of people,so I really do appreciate it. Cheers!
