Why does everyone not buy a divx player?

I know a lot of people have problems converting Divx/xvid so i wonder why people dont just buy a divx playing dvd player.

Reasons for having one

1. They are cheap my last one i got for £32 pounds
2. You can get 6 films on one dvd.
3. Save money you dont have to use as many dvds
4. Save all them hours converting films to dvd leaving your PC for other things like downloading more stuff or plaing games.
5. Never lose a film again! When (brothers who never return films)your asks to lend a film i love saying "Its divx it wont play on yours.
6. Conveting is a PAIN IN THE A$$. What is divx or xvid, How many frames is it? Is it PAL or NTSC? When i convert it the film jitters along! I lose quality when i convert it! Is it MP3 or AC3 sound etc etc

I just dont see the point in conversion (unless your flogging them) or like fancy menu's. There is the small outlay of a Divx player but if you can afford a PC, DVD Writer and all that surely its worth buying.

You could ask the same thing about lots of things.
Also if everyone had them, you loose point 5.

1) A lot of people already have DVD players. Why anyone would buy a new player that doesn't support MPEG4/avi is a different matter though.
2) True, however personally I like to have one movie per disc though TV series are a different matter. You could also buy one that supports HD resolutions and have better than DVD quality without waiting for blu-ray HDDVD, etc.
3) As I said, I prefer not to have different movies on the same disc, unless it were sequels. Too hard to find stuff otherwise if you have 6 unrelated things on the same disc. Discs are cheap anyway.
4) DXN HT profiles don't support GMC or qpel so you still may have to convert.
5) As I said. Self defeating.
6) Not aware of anything being released retail as an XviD AVI, so it has to be converted somewhere along the line.

Could also just build a HTPC.
