hey pple just wondering if the quality enhancements make much of a difference when shrinking a dvd i have them both ticked off assuming i will get best quality (which i do) but it takes longer so i want to know if one of them is better than the other or if i don't use them will it affect the quality enough to be noticable or get choppy at parts.

any feedback or personal opinions would be appreciated.

Thanks All

I primarily use RB/CCE or DVDCopy3 anymore but when I was useing shrink I always used advanced analysis and also used quality enhancements on any backup requiring 15% compression or more.

I still use DVD Shrink frequently. I too use the enhancements. No, there's not that much of a difference on a DVD-5, but on a DVD-9, which we encounter more often than not, it makes all the difference. With that much compression, you want the enhancement or you'll either get a grainy, blurry look or pixellation.

I'm with Mort81, I stick with Rebuilder Pro RC 5 (lastest version) and Intervideo Copy 3 Platinum. When I did use shrink I actually made sure to add just enough info for re-authoring so that I did use the enhancements. I noticed in my home theater that the extended time made abig difference. Yet, Intervideo 3 is just outstanding (not free!) I would recommend using the enhancements!

Rebuilder Pro v. 1.00 RC 5 with CCE Basic
Intervideo Copy 3 Platinum
Cloned DVD 2
are my personal favorites and do an extraordinary job of backing up!
