I have backed up several DVD+R and some of them won't play on my computer or DVD+R player. I have had this problem with Pirates of the Caribbean and Somethings Gotta Give. I know its not a problem with the DVD player or the computer, I am using 123 Copy software and it has worked for others. When I try to play the DVD+R on my computer I just get a blank screen. I didn't get any error messages while burning and it said DVD was burned, so I'm not sure what the problem is? Do some movies just not burn while others do? These two particular movies took a long time to transcode and burn is this a sign that they aren't going to burn correctly? I can only burn in the DVD+R. Anybody have the same problems with the DVD+R? Help!!!

I think some newer copy protection schemes give DVDXcopy and older versions of DVD Decrypter problems. The Forgotten was one. If you know how to use Decrypter and Shrink, I'd suggest you use it for this particular DVD.

Just out of curiosity, what kind of blank media did you backed up those dvd movies on? How old is your stand alone dvd player? If you have DVD Decrypter or Nero ToolKit (Info Tool), you can check to see if your backed up copy has any information or successfully backed up.

To check using DVD Decrypter: simply put your backed up copy in dvd-rom or dvd burner, click on DVD Decrypter, MODE, ISO, READ R, click on SOURCE (dvd burner or dvd-rom that has your backed up copy), and on your right hand panel it should display the information of your dvd disc i.e. empty or has the info.

To check using Nero Toolkit: simply put your backed up copy in dvd-rom or dvd burner, click on Nero StartSmart, Nero ToolKit, Info Tool, select your SOURCE drive (dvd burner or dvd-rom that has your backed up copy), click on DISC icon, now it should display whatever that was recorded/backed up/burned on your disc or if it's empty down below with all of its info.

WARNING: Do not "update/upgrade" your SAMSUNG BD-D5XXX series (Bluray Player), or else you cant enjoy any of your movie files.
