hey guys i have a dvd burner and ive heard that it is best to burn ar 4x for ps2 games, anyway wheneva im burning with dvd decrypter or any other program if i put it on maximum is says around 3.5x when its burning but when i put it on 4x it goes bout 0.9 to 1.5, is this normal? if not should i just leave it on max?

i assume your dvd burner is only CAPABLE of 4x max burning? what make and model is it? how do your backups play? do they play just fine when they are burned @ 3.5x as you stated? if they play just fine, then you should just leave it at max, as i think your hardware (dvd burner) is only capable of such speeds or you are using 4x rated media where the max speed on your particular burner will write @ 4x max. :) hope that is not too confusing...

thanks, i have an LG, and it just says ultra speed, i think i can go higher on Nero, although i burnt san andreas on maximum and it didnt turn out so good, same as vice city, it freezed every now and then and it was making loud noises, i burnt god of war on the 4x option which it went at 1.5x, and it turned out perfect but it froze on a level but that is cos i didnt rebuild it proply, ok thanks very much im just gonna have to stick with the low speeds.

yeah, well, after that little bit of info, use what works for you, if burning at the slower speeds produces better results, stick with it~ good luck~ :)
