Hi,
I've got an AVI movie which does not want to show anything else than a color map (a monoscope).
I try to play it with different players, like WMP or Nero Show Time but I get the same result. The movie play cursor runs and the time looks ok.
I rendered it via GSpot and here is what I got:
http://img103.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mymovie4rr.gif
Codec info states:
The following codecs should both capable of processing this format:
--> {AVI Draw}
--> {MJPEG Decompressor}
DirectShow is apparently able to play the file as well (see "DirectShow Render", below)
Any clue?
Thanks

Maybe that is what is encoded in the AVI? Did you capture it yourself? You could try opening it with VDub, since it has a built in MJPEG decoder.

No, I did not capture it myself, I downloaded it from the internet.
VDub I tried as well but no way.
Do you mean it could be a fake movie?
Thanks

Well MJPEG is not a codec commonly used for internet downloads. It is generally used for captures, which is why I asked.

Well, in Vdub when I try to open I get:
MJPEG decoder: Access violation caught. Source may be corrupted.
Fake one?
Thanks

Well a few things:
It lists the FourCC as MJPEG/xvid.
GSpot reports a runtime of 10frames?
Even given that the above is wrong, it has a bitrate of like 5Mbit so at the filesize it is, it would not be very long anyway, say 20mins.
It has no audio.
