Hey all...newber here. I have the player mentioned in the heading of my post and was wondering if anyone can get .avi files to play on it. I am only able to play .mpeg files on it. I dont want to have to do any conversion, thats why I bought the player in the first place. Is there some special firmware I can find to enable avi playback? please help me out, much appreciated.

edit: I was able to rip a dvd with 15 or so .avi files and it played...well, sort of. What happens is that the player plays about the first 5 seconds or so of the .avi and skips to the next file, this continues in a loop until I choose to stop it. I tried a completely different set of avi's and get the same problem. I also tried different media and cdr's as well. I also tried pushing the menu button (which brings me to a list of the files on the disc), then individually selecting a file to play and it does the same thing. I'm at a loss here, please help...thanks!
