Yes shrink can write automatically if you have Nero and set that option. There's also another prog it will also use but can't remember the name.
Or you can use decrypter to burn. Shrink hasn't been updated in at least a year though - still good prog- and better than xcopy so it can't handle the newer copy protections. Decrypter is another prog that's no longer being updated but still handles the newer protections.
What's the movie you're tyring to do?

Try ripping the movie onto your hdd with DVD Decrypter and then load it into dvdxcopy or DVD Shrink. You may need AnyDVD to break encryptions but as binkie stated dvdd will rip all US titles to date that I'm aware of. Here are some guides for dvdd and DVD Shrink.

i was trying to copy Black Hawk Down but it wouldnt work on dvdx copy platinum OR DVD Decrypter....the movie was too big for 1 dvd r- so maybe that was one of the problems but on dvdx platinum i split the movie into portions so i could have to dvd rs with 1 movie on them but that still didnt work..an error message showed which said something like "check log file" what is the cause of this problem and how can i fix it??

Also if anyone can tell the proper way to split a movie, id appreciate it..

Thank you

What do you think "DVDShrink" means...?
You don't split movies my friend, you run Shrink on them :^)
You are not even looking at the guides Mort pointed out to you, are you?
Copy the DVD to harddisk using DVDDecrypter (in File mode). It is extremely simple. Remove the DVD.
Now run DVDShrink on those files, reauthoring so you get only the movie and the audio tracks you desire.
Often, at this point, no compression is required!
It is a quick, easy process.
Read some guides and try to get a feel for what you're asking about,

If the movie is on your hard drive use DVD Shrink to compress it to fit to a dvd 5 (single layer). The 2 links mort81 provided above can take you through the whole process just using shrink and decrypter.
Or you can always use a dvd 9 and burn w/ decrypter but those discs are still a little too pricey for me.

The log you posted is the log when you first start up decrypter.
Look for a failed one - that will help sort this out. I think (key word here) it will be in the folder for decrypter under program files something like c:\program files\DVD Decrypter. If not try it again and then save the log to post here.
As for dvd x rescue can't help you there - I haven't used xcopy in over a year. You can check at this forum for help:

Hi,

As mentioned above if you print out the guides they are easy to follow.

But if you are looking for a easy one step solution. Might I suggest getting 1 click dvd copy and AnyDVD. 1 click will take care of the ripping, compression, and burning. While AnyDVD will take care of protection.

You will have to buy both but they come with free updates for life, and the others while great programs are no longer being updated.

celeron 2.8, 2x 80hd, 1 gig ram, mad dog ext 8x dvd+/-r
1 click DVD / AnyDVD, Dvd-Cloner 2, Dvd Shrink / Dvd43
Nero, Power DVD, Pinnacle Studio 9.43
