It's happened a couple of times now...I download a movie in AVI file format, it plays fine on the PC, I burn the AVI file to a disk, put it in my living room player, and disappointment (actually anger as well)
THe movie plays well, there is ambient and background sound, but no dialogue. The lips move but I can't hear what they say. Yet I put that same disk into the PC, play it in Media Player and it's fine again.
erm, not sure if this makes sense, but using Dr DivX, tghe "Input" reads that the Video is AVI(DivX MPEG4 Version 5) and the Audio is AVI (448kbps 48KHz 5 Channels) - I assume this means something along the lines of your 5.1 then?
Is that enough, or do I need more specialist tools to analyse further?
I have a SCART lead running into the TV, and from the TV, the built-in Dolby ProLogic audio outputs feeds 2 x front, 2 x rear speakers, the sub-woofer that's built in the TV and a "front" speaker.
It's a config that works for 99% of other disks, e.g. rock concert recordings make good use of the "surround" speakers, so why this movie doesn't I don't know.
