For music, kazaa or soulseek, for movies and all the rest, eMule & Direct Connect!

kazaa, IMHO, is the best, but the normal version contains LOTS of spyware! so I'd recomend kazaa lite-
http://www.kazaalite.tk very customizable, loaded with features, and doesn't screw up your computer:)

Kazaa is ok for music but for anything else it wouldn't be the best, I used to use it all the time until i started using edonkey2000 and then emule and just realised how much better they. Seriously, you should give emule a try!

Ok you ask someone with loads of p2p experience and loads of experience in the scene what is the best p2p and of course they will say either eMule, eDonkey or Direct Connect! eMule wasn't made to be like kazaa, just search and download it was made so that people could post REAL movies and stuff into web pages and you could download with one click. Also, kazaa probably wont last long, it will topple like napster eventually since it all works off one server. eMule works off servers that anyone can run and loads of ppl have taken the time to contribute to it.
BTW, the keys to speed in eMule are two things, get a good server list, dont be greddy with upload speed and always check up on new things! If you think Kazaa is better than eMule then visit http://www.sharereactor.com
After you see that you will see the best about eDonkey and eMule! Then see the even better and visit http://forum.sharereactor.com
look at how everyone is helping to make it as powerful as it is. Even just look at the screeners forum, beats tmd anyday!

Wuz up. I hear all the people talking about p2p programs. I use emule myself. But has anyone tried using newsgroups, they lots of files and you download them from a server. Which is faster than p2p. But the only problem is that you dont always find what you looking for, you just gotta wait till someone posts the file that you need. It's still good.

Dela, since you seem to know the most about emule or edonkey I am coming to you for help, I been reading alot of you posts which is the reason I am currently using emule and edonkey this is all very new to me and just as complicated I am used to lime wire or napster where everything is very user friendly and I dont understand alot going on with emule as far as setting and such but I do have it up and running but in past two days have got about 2 megs of a 120 meg file and everytime I check on it its allways in waiting mode, I have a cable internet connection and it seems like everybody is uploading from me but I am getting next to nothing from downloads I`m mostly downloading movie files but some mp3 and I dont understand blue and red colors. Please help me!!!

The speed of eMule depends on your generosity, your id, your shared files, file availibilty, the server you are connecting too and your connection settings. I get about 80kbits/sec download off eMule most of the time!

No, no and no.
DC++ (Direct Connect) beats every thing hands down.

cd-rw.org, I love DC++, its my second fav p2p but for movie purposes I prefer eMule. Also, for anyone who is interested, the emule upload crack is useless!
