dms4 ezi solderless chip, where is pin 1 on bios ic

I'm on step 1 in the manual and it says to align th bios lcip by situating the pin1 marking on the bios clip PCB over pin1 of the bios ic. Where is pin1 on the bios ic?

I beleive I have the chip in correctly. Now some problems.
1. After I put in the toxic, the screen said to reboot ps2.
I wasn't sure to leave the disc in and reboot thinking there is more to be done so, I decided to take the disc out. Seems everything is working but after I played one game for awhile, I ejected and put in another game and problems. Either is get Put in a ps2 disc or sits at the browser screen or the laser makes loud clicking and the disc does not spin. I tried the game that worked and still problems. Do I need to push a buttom on the control to activate the chip or do I need to push the reset/eject buttom a certain way?

Now things has turned for the worst. NO power. I can hear a little ting noice where the power switch is located when I turn the switch on in the back but not lights come on. Do I have a bad laser or something else?
