I was wondering what other people's standard is. Is there a percentage you don't go below? I only burn 98% and up. What happens at lower percentages? Like 70s and 80s?

The higher the compression the more the quality can deteriorate.
I try to keep mine 70% or higher - depends on the movie.

It really depends on a few factors, your burning program, the quality of the media, the program that you are using for rencoding, I have done The Wire and Deadwood which has a couple of discs that are over 3hrs and did the whole disks on TY media and you cant tell the difference, my compress was about 50%, so it really depends on what is accepetable to you

Hi,

I have also done Deadwood and others like Oz, Dead Like Me, etc.

I have used TDK dvd media and I can't really tell a difference.

Guess it depends on the media, software your using, and whats acceptable to you.

I've gone down to 60% with deep analyse enabled and no visible loss of quality. I don't like any of the extras that come with movies so I always re-author the films and take only the movie itself, also removing any foreign subtitles or audio tracks.
