self-confessed newbie with moderate computer skills here.

spent most of the morning reading archived posts and guides. still have a roadblock with what seems simple to everyone else.

i'm trying to lift one show off a multi-title disc. eventual goal is to create a new dvd-r with two different one-hour programs off two different collections.

have been using the old dvd decrypter, also dvd-shrink, and have also downloaded trial versions of anydvd and clone dvd.

all of these worthy programs have stripped out the desired episode, but nothing i can do will allow me to do anything with the vob and other files once i have them on my hard drive.

have tried directly importing to vegas and adobe editors, converting them videocleaner. even taking them directly into dvd architect and mydvd. none of the programs and file types want to recognize or talk to each other.

was finally able to just drag the two vob files into vegas, but with no audio.

am currently just running the show into vegas via an old apex dvd player, but will only have analog audio/video.

what important step have i missed in this supposedly simple process?

(even my old copy of dvdexpress doesn't isolate what i need in the form i need it.)

any enlightenment will be appreciated.

Shrink (with Nero) can put two different titles on one DVD-R. Use Shrink in re-author mode to grab the first show and save to your hard drive. Then grab the 2nd show off the other DVD in the same way and save to a different location to your hard drive.
