Hi im writing this little article for you, so you know what to use.
IN MY OPINION never use shrink unless it's at like 75% quality, unless your backup has a real high bitrate.

IN MY OPINION you cannot go wrong with PINNACLE INSTANT COPY 8, many believe that intervideo is better but In my expierence Intervideo causes many pixels while Pinnacle looks great. This is based on burning pirates of the Caribean and Constantine.

I know this type of article would have hel;ped me much but wasnt available months ago. Pinancle maybe slower at like 80 mins to encode on a 3ghz comp, but the QUALITY SPEAKS FOR ITSELF

you havent really given a very indepth reason why and although you have the right to express your opinion , you really will be in a minority as shrink is still an excellent piece of software.You mention pinnacle why not try the gear products and see if they compare

Time and time again people would ask what is best or say what is best. I guess we all just have our favorites. Mine keep changing with time. *_*

I WILL voice my opinion. Dvdrebuilder installer comes with hc encoder bundled in and the beta vs is still free (though not for long) and you can always move up to the pro rc vs and also cce encoder. It will blow the doors off any transcoders out there for video quality. The link is in my sig.

@scf_au

I like your face *_*

For "quick and dirty" copies I like DVDcopy 3 by intervideo, for the best possible I use RBB/CCE. I have never cared for the pinnacle products, just my opinion.
