Hi

I read somewhere that you need a slide tool to be used to allow loading of the games using hd advance, can anyone confirm this either way.

You need a slide card or a fliptop to install backups on to the hdd, normal games install without a slide tool or a fliptop. You can always use WinHIP on the PC if you don't have a slide tool or a fliptop. To play games already on the hdd only the hda disk is needed.

Thanks for the info, does hd advance come with a slide tool ?

What is Winhip and where can i get it, loading from my pc is no problem as i have a quick release for my second drive.

Also what is hd loader exploit?

As you might guess i am new to this, i have a network adaptor and a 120gb hard drive, what is my best / easiest way forward, i have the older type of ps2

Hda does not come with a slide tool, WinHIP is a Ps2 program for the PC that allows you to read the ps2 hdd and out games on it by just connecting it as a slave drive, a hd exploit is a bit of software you make on your PC for the Ps2 and then install it onto the memory card so you don't need the real hda disk but you do need a Ps1 disk to trigger it. If you have Swap Magic then a exploit is the best method but if you don't have Swap magic then buying hda would be the easiest way forward for you.

One final question

I see some people advertising hda v3.0 but the pic shows v2.0 on it, if it is just that the pictures are old is the newer version of much benefit, what about hd loader.

As i said before, i have a hd and an adaptor, i am trying to ensure that i get everything thing that i need, also that i buy the most suitable items to allow me to run from the hd

The HD Loader v.3.0 hasnt come out they advertise it being out but when you buy it they send you v.2...v.3 is still in the making
