Okay I've looked around about playing back up PSX games and just became more and more confused.

Now I know how to rip from my old disc and burn the image, but the playing part I'm confuse. I don't want to mod my PS2 or PSone with a mod chip. Now if I use Action Replay for PSX will the back up CD R play in my PSone? If using Action Replay will I need any tools? Or just the disc?

Okay, I'm not sure if this'll work w. action replay, but i know it will with gameshark. Boot up gameshark, use a eject hack, a fliptop, slide card or any other methods of getting the tray open w/out actually pressing the eject button cause then the AR will try to recognize the disk.

So u dont have to mod ur ps2, but u need a way of ejecting ur disk, i recommend the fliptop case, cheap and easy to install.

Flip top is the way to go...also if you have a V9 PS2 you can install Launch.Elf on the memory card exploit...it has a PS2 browser option that will launch a backup.....or you could get an old version of game shark or action replay...not sure about action replay but it will work with a Game shark v 4.0 or older ...Game Shark Lite works really well...and finally there's Breaker Pro...it's quick and can launch anything for the most part...I couldn't get it to work on my v7.....but it worked on my v9 and my slimline.....

I see. I just found a walkthrough where a guy says he used a credit card to get the disc try and swap out the games. I might try that.

And you said Gameshark v4 or older? Gameshark 2 V5 wont work?

He's talking about using launchelf to boot backed up PSX games. IT only works on V9 PS2's. AS far as I know about Breaker Pro though it works on all PS2 versions.

and yeah, I think its V4 Gameshark or older...if not the disc wont quit spinning at the disc change screen...and remember to swap WITHOUT pushing the eject button....
