My experience with the 16x DVD+R Verbatim has not been good. All my burners are Pioneer with the latest firmware. This is the first media my standalone Toshiba player didn't like. It plays okay in my Sony standalone. But universal playablity is key in my house so back to Best Buy for this stuff.

 ... That's odd .. My LiteOn LVW-5005 really seem to like ALL Verbatim discs and the 16x seem to be no exception ... They seem to load faster than most of the other brands also ...

My litey likes the Verbatim 8X +R's a lot, better than the Fuji TY's,
so I tried the Inkjet Printable Verbs 16X +R and compared to the regular 8X +R's, using kprobe to check it out and compare, they were not nearly as good as the 8X- so back to sam's club they went.

Very disappointing results really.

I just bought a pack of these and they refuse to work with my drive... returning them to best buy as you read this. they better gimme credit to buy some better ones =/

I requested a firmware update for the Toshiba DVD player. Hopefully in 7 to 10 days I can tell you if I was hasty in my judgement.

i saw the sale just now.. i was actually going to start a thread on it but you beat me.

should i just get the 8x.. they're at 29.99.

i have LaCie D2 Lighscribe burner.. 16x.. as in my sig.. but has anybody had any issues? i checked the lacie site but there's no firmware update.. any body know of any sites other than the manafacturer's?

If the 8x was available that is what I would get. Besides 8x is probably the highest reliable burn speed anyway.
