I have a V7 ps2 modded with a matrix infinity. It was tested after the modding and everything was okay. When I received it, it would only read original, DVD+RW, and CD-R media. Is it possible that a loose soldering point is causing this reading problem ?

If you had it professionally modded, don't open the PS2 yourself. Just take it back to whoever modded it and let them deal with it. If you open it yourself, you might void your warranty with the installer.
