Hello,
I have been working on this case for a couple of hours every night spending way too much money trying to buy new DVD-R's and such. I want to know if its my DVD player which it shoudlnt be because the revue of it on videohelp.com says its good for pretty much all types of DVD-R's. I really thought it was my program (Clone DVD) instead of my media but i still went out and tried different media. So now tonight ive tried 4 DVD's using the DVD Shrink 3.2 combined with the DVD Decryptor suggested in the "How do I burn?" thread. It says everything works but the movies will not play in my DVD player. cany anyobody please help me fix this problem? Oh and the movies do play perfectly with menu's and everything on my DVD-Rom

What type of player are you using it on, I use Shrink and decryptor with my Lite-On DVD burners and have yet to find but a few players that can't play the DVD's created. Older model players usually havea problem but Lite-On has a booktype tool that allows DVD R+ and R- to be changed to a DVD Rom so they'll play in the older drives/players.

Make sure your burner has the latest firmware update.

I am using the DVD's on a Toshiba SD-1800. at videohelp.com it says that that player should be fine with DVD-R's and I have tryed them on a different DVD player and again they didnt work. tommorow againn i am going to try a different media type but I am burning the ISO files using Decryptor and the DVD Recordable drive that came with my brand new Dell Dimension 9100. I used to have a Lite-On burner with my old computer. But how do i find this booktype tool that you speak of. I have heard about it before but never got around to playing around with anything of that name yet. And also I just assumed that my burner would have the latest firmware update because its only about a month old computer. How do I check that aswell?

for firmware goto start, programs, accessories, system tools, system information, components, cdrom

check what brand dvd writer and firmware and goto manufacture website to update it

try burning at 4x

set compression in clonedvd to custom under 4400, same for shrink

I dont have a lite-on burner will the utility still be usefull? I wouldnt think so

In decrypter go to tools>drive.check for firmware updates. It will give you a message saying taking you to the firmware page and list your current firmware. You either check the firmware page or go to you drives manufacturer's website to upddate. You can also check the manu. website for a booksetting utility.
The utility above is only for Lite On.
What brand of blank discs are you using?
I would recommend using Taiyo Yuden or verbatim DataLifePlus.

I got the firmware update and now my movies work perfectly. I love how the menu and all features are kept and that i can keep a back-up copy of my whole collection.
