Problem with Metal Gear Solid 3

A friend of mine backed up his Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake eater disc and lent me the backup just for an experiment. When I play the game I realise that there is no intro to the game as seen in previous Metal Gear Solid games.
My friend now lives in another state and has no internet so I can't contact him and ask him if the game has an intro at all or not. If the game DOES have an intro could someone help me in figuring out what the problem is?

If your talking about the main menu intro there is none untill you beat virtues mission.
Then everytime you play there will be that Snake eater theme song.
