Hello. I just joined this Forums and have found all kinds of good info....except a soloution to my problem.

I have been using DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink for over a year now and have not had a single problem until a month ago. First, I tried backing up my original of The Incredibles. DVD Decrypter was able to extract the data from the disc and put it onto my hard drive (over 85GB free). Then, I opened DVD Shrink and started the shrink/burn process. About 3/4 of the way through, I received an "Out of Memory" error. I have 1GB of memory (PC4200 to be exact). So, I closed out all programs running in the background, ran DVD Shrink again and the error popped up yet again.

Yesterday, I was trying to backup my South Park DVD's. I was able to successfully back up Season 1 and Disc 1 and Disc 2 from the Third Season. Disc 3 of the Third season gave me problems..."Out of Memory". I tried running AnyDVD in the background and using Nero and Roxio to do a disc copy and both programs informed me that I needed to use a larger capacity disc (6.1GB) or a dual layer blank disc.

I am using Windows XP Pro (SP2), I have updated my Firmware for my DVD Burner (NEC 3500a) and I have the latest versions of DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink.

Maybe you should try SHRINKING the movie so it fits on a 4.7 gb disk, as for the memory, defrag your RAM.

I did try shrinking the movie (using DVD Shrink) and that's when I received the "Out of Memory" error.

How do you defrag RAM? I know how to defrag hard drives though.

I use System Mechanic 5, but you have to pay for that.

An excellent freeware solution would be Cachemman Xp.

Solved my "Out of Memory" problem! All it took was for me to reformat my hard drives and load up DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink!

Seriously though, I've been wanting to reformat my hard drives and I was curious to see if I could successfully burn the disc I was having problems with. Sure enough, it worked! Must've been some spyware that was causing the problem.
