I have a V.5 PS2 with a DMS4 E.Z.I. PRO mod chip installed. Im thinking about getting a HDD (I've heard much about them). The problem is, I dont know too much on how they work, intall process, and things you need.
I would like to save my laser the hard work and be able to load games directly off the HDD. What would I need (and to do) to be able to install games onto the HDD and play them on my PS2? Applications? Programs? Hardware?

I use a 40 gig Maxtor HDD.
HD advance V2.1
A Sony network adaptor.
A slide tool (as in swap magic but I made my own from a credit card)

The software (HDA) formats the drive and is the interface for loading games onto HDD and playing them.
The network adaptor provides the interface to connect the HDD to your PS2 into the exapsion bay in the back.
The slide tool allows me to swap the HD advance disc for a back-up when requested by the software for loading a game to HDD. (I think you have to do the same for original discs as well).
I have never used a mod chip but I used to use swap magic which just don't compare.
Your laser is saved with HD advance and loading times much faster.

The hard drive could be just your basic IDE, correct?
