quick question. Does mlb 2k6 need to be patched for it to work?

Im using swap magic 3.0 and slide card, I tried playing my back up copy of mlb 2k6 but the game wont load it just hangs at the red please insert a ps/ps2 disk screen, and when I press X nothing happens.

I have ps2 version 7 and Im using verbatim DVD-R as my medium

Actually, try pressing the square button to do a "Special Boot"..also how did you manage to even burn a disk? I cant get past 13% in creating the image of this game
