Hey, is it just me or has the "All Other Topics" and the "Safety Valve" threads gone through the roof in useless posts? I myself am guilty of starting it (ok, maybe not but, my "500th Post" thread went on for a while) I would say this:
If you need to just chat use the PM or IRC on the #aD channel. I am not knocking anyone here but, I just think we as a forum need to cut back on the useless and post boosting posts.

This is ONLY an idea, maybe along with the yearly CCing (crap cleaning) that seems to go on the aD Team could clean up the Safety Valve and All Other Topics area.

I would also like to suggest that something is added to the bottom of the Safety Valve description that says "This is NOT a chat room, don't use it as such".

or, we could do as someone suggested when the new member level rules came into effect, make it so posts from the Safety Valve do not count on your post amount.

What do my fellow members think?

I have to agree in part with what you say. I have used Safety Valve to let off steam, especially when my computer got screwed up. And sometimes it can be fun, but lately there are an awful lot of useless topics and the threads seem to degenerate to something else as they go on. It has become the place to go to get up your post count, and that is not what it was meant for. I don't want to see the forum gone just cleaned up. Okay, it is just my two cents.

I would bet that if the admins stated that these 2 forums would not count towards post count totals that the amount of useless threads would almost stop. Just a guess.(LOL)

safety valve i agree to no count but all other topics is iffy as it seems to be a catch all for other forums as we get hardware, software & other stuff posted in there.

I agree with you ddp, the Safety Valve should not count on your posts but, All Other Topics is ok.

I have to agree with that, since a lot of members (including myself)post a lot in the safety valve, and since it's usually is just discussions, it would be more than fair to stop counting anything posted there.
