I'm using TMPGEnc Plus to encode my .avi files to DVD. I have not tried MPEG2 encoding before, so I read your tutorial at

http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/convert_avi_to_dvd.cfm

My problem is that when I get to fourth page of the Project Wizard,
I cant set the Average Video Bitrate low enough to get between 95% and 97%. Also, up top by the Movie Info,
It says my video is almost 5 hours long, but in reality it's only about one hour and fourty minutes. Also, some of my enoding attempts have yielded no audio, even though AVIcodec says I don't have AC3, but this:
Audio : 100 MB, 138 Kbps, 48000 Hz, 2 channels, 0x55 = Lame MP3, Supported

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

hey

Before using TMPGEnc you should set the environment and VFAPI settings as shown in this guide:
http://www.videohelp.com/guides.php?link=732

Once set up now to cure the specific problem get GoldWave here:
http://www.goldwave.com/release426.php

Install and run, then drop the .AVI file on it. If GoldWave complains or does nothing then you're prolly missing one or more codecs. If it says "deflashing to disk" then wait for it to finish. Then do File=>Save As, 16 bit signed stereo .wav file and save it to the same
folder as your .AVI video.

In TMPGEnc after you input the video file, select the .wav file you just made as the audio file. If you have all the codecs you need then it should work.
