Qoob pro problem

Hi there,

I seem to have a small problems after installing a Qoob pro chip into my Gamecube.

When I turn on the power all I get from my TV is a black screen.
The LED on the actual Qoob chip is on indicating power to it, but nothing.
However, if I attach the usb cable to it and then recycle the power I am greeted by the Qoob bios screen.
I can then switch to the 1.3 bios and run a backed-up version of Mario Tennis ok.

Does this sound like some dodgy soldering on my part? Or something else?
