I'm starting to get really frustrated with this....

When I first started this, I was able to get a 10.5GB movie ripped, stripped and reencoded to a 1.5GB mpg. I was satisfied with it, but not completely happy because I wanted to get the file size a _little_ smaller... about a 700mb cdr size file. From what I've been reading, this is possible. I've been reading guides until my eyes hurt. I've been ripping, stripping and reencoding so much I think my processor is about to go on strike and I get one of 2 results:

1. the file size is too big to fit or a CD-R
-or-
2. When it makes the avi that can fit on a CD-R, winamp hangs on load, media player get the standard M$ crash, my ATI file player says the file is invalid, and the DivX player plays the audio WITHOUT video!

...I'm at my wits end.

from what I know it is not possible to get a full movie on one cd-r disk, it takes two of 'em, would be nice if one could though.

well, that's the other thing I don't understand about this...

The first pass: movie size is 113mb
The second pass: movie size is just under 1GB

Why such a difference? None of this makes any sense...
