Okay, i went to tuen on the PS2 and the power cable was unplugged, i went to plug it in (the back swich was in off mode the "o") and flipped it to the on mode and, i saw a small spark. I quickly took the cable out and tryed it again. This time there was no spark, but the red lite on the power button doesn't appear,
WHAT IS WRONG??

well, if the spark came from the bottom of the ps2, you could have blown the fuse on the power supply. i would check this if you are comfortable opening the ps2.

I'm looking at the power supply, but i dont seem to notice a change, is it possible that it just short circuited???
Is there a way to fix it??

so i am going to assume that the fuse is not blown on the power supply.
when you turn it on originally, did it sound like it turned on, or was it dead.
a lot of times, a pop w/ some sparks indicates a blown fuse. thats why i asked.
i assume you have all the ribbon cables hooked up correctly.
also, if the ps2 does not turn on and the fuse isn't blown, then the power supply might have gone bad as you say. lets hope not

Hopefully not, all the ribbons are hooked up and it doesn't show any sign of life at all. When i press eject or the power button, nothing happens.

well...
i guess my next suggestion would be to try another power supply, if you have another ps2 or a friend is nice enough to let you try his/hers then i would try it.
good thing about trying it first is that you don't spend money on a new power supply only to find out that there was nothing wrong w/ the other one.
if it doesn't turn on at all then that is the most likely problem.
plus, i don't want to suggest a new power supply and have you buy one and that not be the problem.

Just to be clear, r u talking about the huge main power supply board, or the small one on the back of the ps2 where the fan is connected??

there is the motherboard, the bigger of the two, where the fan is connected and is usually green in color, plus that is where you install the mod.
and then there is the power supply, smaller of the two and mine is tan in color.
the smaller one is the power supply.

first i would unplug all power.
ok, on the power supply you will see a small class tube that is pushed into two metal holders. that is the fuse.
inside the class, there is a long metal wire. if the wire is broken. then the fuse is bad. is the fuse is bad then you need a new one. otherwise check the power supply over for any damage and anything out of the ordinary.

good news hopefully, the fuse is very easy to replace. it should be a 3.15 amp 120 volt fuse. once you take is out and have it in your hand. then you can see that on the metal piece, it should say 3.15 amp.
go to any store that has fuses. radio shack here in the US. don't know where you are. and buy a fuse that is just like it and is 3.15 amp. now, it can be 120 volt or a 250 volt. 3.15 amp and 250 volt is more common. so i used that one and it works fine. then replace it back into the power supply and test it.

yea, actually, it is 3.15amp and 125volt, you can use a 3.15amp and 250volt like i did and it works fine.
lets hope that that is the only problem. we will take it a step at a time.
