I've burned this game using top quality media at 4x, and the game is really choppy, any suggestions?

Try burning at 2.0x using DVD Decrypter - you will get no probs!

I would try cleaning your lens on your ps2 or maybe burning it again and shutting down non-essential programs while burning... it sounds like you just had a bad burn to me.
I burned this game at 8x and it plays fine.. so unless you have an old dvd burner speed shouldn't be a problem.

Yes, sounds like a bad burn.
Usually do to bad media.
Try getting some DVD 8X discs and burning at 4X
Philips, TDK, Ritek G04, Verbatim
