ilo DVDR05 dvd recorder problem...

I recently purchased an ilo dvd05 model dvd recorder at walmart so I could send my husband home videos in Iraq, well the first disc I recorded for him only plays the second half in his HP notebook... it will not play the first half of the dvd, although the second dvd I recorded for him plays perfectly all the way through. Will this be an ongoing problem, or just a one time deal? Should I return it and spend the extra $100 for a better brand?

Try going to the ilo/liteon website and get a firmware update.
