Help with Flip Top cover for V12 PS2 - Discs are not spinning

Hi all. I could really use your help with a problem i am experiencing after installing a Flip Top cover for my slim PS2. During installation i accidentally snapped the spring on the front of the cover, which is used to open it. It fell on the floor but i managed to put if back in place (i think).

After installing the flip top, i tried turning the PS2 on, putting in the SWAP magic disc, but for some reason the disc wont spin!. I have tried putting in originals and backups alike, but after closing the cover, the discs are not spinning. All i see is the PS2 boot screen.Have i damaged my PS2? Please help someone...!

i would say maybe the cover is not firmly push down so the inside sensor is not pushed down when closing down the cover

yea the little sensor button on that back side of the ps2 is not getting pushed down there is other ways of doing this if u bought the flip top lid for it i suggest u buy the whole case at http://clearxbox.com

Yes you were both right. The flip top cover doesnt push the sensor enough and the disc does not spin as a result.An edge in the flip top is shorter than the original cover, and the disc doesnt spin. I replaced the flip top with the original cover and the disc spins great! I followed the instructions correctly, but i think that the flip top is faulty....
