SP.ICE installation trouble

I have a 1.6b box and just bought sp.ice chip. I installed according to the direction from TeamXodus.com, I screw down base onto template, insert wire connectors, and power up all 5 test lights show. Problem is when I install chip the xbox turns on/off 3 times then turns on, all lights up like the diagram but I have no display and disk drive button flashes red to green. I was wondering what the black and blue wire are for...? do these need to be ran from chip to the board?
