How is your connection set up?
Are you using a router to connect your PC & XBOX?
Are you connecting you xbox directly to your PC?

I doubt it! you probably just couldn't get FlashFXP to work for you.
Either FTP works or it doesn't, usually the only reason one is better is because one is faster and that is usually due to your network/router setup or the dashboard your using.

go into the settings/network of your dashboard and make sure DHCP is enabled and disable static IP.You do have a dashboard installed right? You have to be in the dash in order to FTP(Xenium chip has FTP on the chip os,don't need dash with that,Kinda slow though).

@Dougie83 & Bohefus

I don't want to contradict what was said but I just wanted to remind you guys that it's not "carved in stone" that whatever is connected to a router needs to have DHCP enabled.

I have a Linksys router (four ports). All ports are utilized (2 Xboxes, 2 Desktops, plus a Wireless connection with my laptop.
I have Static IP's assigned to everything on my network for the ease of I dentification.

One of the biggest, maybe only issues, that will arise by having your xbox or a PC with DHCP on a network would be the changing of IPs that you can't control. For example: The last time you FTP'd into your xbox thru Flash FXP the address was 192.168.1.103 and the next time you use it, it's different (like 192.168.1.104) now you'd have to change the settings in Site Manager of Flash FXP to update your connection.

With a Static IP, nothing changes on your network and all components are easily identified.

Another NOTE! Just like Bohefus said

A program or choice of program rarely depicts the fate of your FTP progress. Both Flash and Cute are in my arsenal of programs and they work fine.

The changing of an IP can happen but it really doesn't happen very often.It will stay the same for every device unless you power off your router for a period of time or change the eeprom on the xbox.
You can leave an xbox unconnected for months and come back and reconnect and the IP will be the same as long as you don't power off your router for an extended period of time.I have 3 xbox's and I did change the eeprom on one of them a couple times and when I did this the IP changed(see's it as a different computer on the network).

You're right. 100%. Personally, I just prefer to work with statics no biggie. If it works for you, do it for you. But thanks for adding that in Bohefus
