You have to have a burner drive. It seems like you only have a drive which can read the disks, not burn onto them!

Well, you can burn ps2 discs on DVD+R, the question will be wether or not your ps2 can read those.
Newer ps2's can, some slightly older ps2s have a disliking for DVD+R, and some can't read them at all.
If you post what version ps2 you have, we can give you some more info on wether or not it's possible to use dvd+r's for your backups.

the package should have came with instructions. The plastic pieces are used to open up the tray for ur ps2.you put in the swap disc. then when it asks to load the disc you use the plastic piece to open the tray and put in the burned game in. thats about it.

As far as the dvd+r's... I have a version 7 ps2 and I personally use dvd+r's over dvd-r's. My ps2 doesn't particularly like dvd-r's and dvd+r's work everytime... As for the plastic peices... those are prolly a slide card... like he said used to open the disc tray... but I recommend getting a fliptop instead of using the swap card...

If you have the slimline ps2 I suspect those pieces that came with the swapmagic discs would be ghost switches and not a slidecard as the slimline doesn't have a tray loading mechanism.
There should have been some instructions for you to follow that came with the goods that you ordered... if not then check back on the site that you ordered them from. You need to mod your ps2 before you can play any backups... a ps2 will NOT play backups without a mod of some sort.
