What brand dvds did you buy? Sounds like your burner doesn't like whatever you bought. Stick with Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim for best results

So do you think its the dvds? Because I gave some of my dvds to my friend and she could use them with decrypter. But thanx. I hope its the dvds. :)

I don't know for sure but you said it was working fine before you got a different brand of media. Poorly made media has trouble being burned or sometimes even recognized. Come on what did you get, Memorex?

i used the dvd identifier but still, it says there is no medium present. So does it mean that the dvds are crap?

Use Identifier to read one of your backups. See if that works

You said you have burned with Decrypter before. Insert one of your burned discs and try reading with Identifier. It's ok if it's already been burned, Identifier is only going to read the media codes on the disc.

Ok. The burnt disks are Taiyo Yuden. I had a few spare disks from the first disk set i bought, that work, and it couldnt identify them either, only the burnt ones could be identified.

You say the dvds are totally white on top? Where did you buy them from?

Yeah, they are totally white. I got them of my cousin, who bought them off his friend who has a computer shop. They where cheap, (now i know why) but i think they are the same brand as the first set i got, but im not sure.

They sound fake. What you need to do is look for a small serial number on the side that gets written to, it's in the very inner ring. You are looking for a number starting with GG00xxxx, GD00xxxx or TG00xxxx

The ones that work (the first set) dont have a serial no. or anything, but the ones that work have: T1017 which is written on the inner ring under the dvd (where you burn). And thats all it has.

they sound like the same ones that i use all the time. Taiyo Yuden white inkjet hub printable or thermal hub printable blank DVD-R. they are excellent. they are completely white without a serial number, but each disc has a 4 digit number. i get them from meritline and they are not cheap.
