I'm not terribly literate so if anyone can help in reasonably simple terms, I will be greatful for a long time.

I need to transfer VHS to DVD so I got Xpert DVD maker but the quality was poor (its bundle included PowerProducer). So I went to Turtle-Beach Video Advantage which bundled PowerDirector and PowerProducer. I got this since I'm pretty hard of hearing and need the Closed Caption and Video Advantage is the only onw which says it will keep the CC.

Great quality copies from old VHSs (using a video stabelizer) but can't get sound on my stand-alone player (new Polaroid 1000).

When I capture, sound is thee. Same for edit. I burn and get sound on playback w/sound on Windows Media Player but not another on my PC where I get sound but no picture (black screen).

But on the stand-alone - - - Nothing. No problem w/the stand-alone itself and it works fine with other burned DVDs.

I have double checked all my settings and see no reason why I should get sound at all stages on the PC but not the DVD player.

Someone said "conflict" since I have several other (burning) programs on the PC (DVD Clone, Nero, DVDXcopy, etc.).

Any help will be appreciated remembering I'm not terribly technical.
