That's like asking which PC is better, a Dell or HP or a DYI job? Sadly I do not know of anyone that makes there own Discs' as all the so-called Manufactures like 'Memorex' are not the OEM. So while a good brand well you'd think 'Memorex' would be a good brand right? might use Prico to manufacture there Discs' for them. Some $1.00(USD) job sitting right next to them on the Shelf might have came out of a Ritek Plant.

Sadly there is no way to know for sure which DVD came out of which Plant. But you can use a Program called 'DVD Identifier' to find out.

But, I myself personaly have never had a problem reading any Media that was burned properly in the first place. i.e. With a DVD±R Burner that could originaly burn ±R\RW out of the Box without a Hacked Firmware! And one where you take note to burn the Disc as an XISO So that the XBOXs'? DVD-ROM Drive could actually read it. If this is for +R\RW Media (I seem to have no problems with this format either on my Philips Drive), Make sure to set the Bitswitch to 'DVD-ROM' in Nero or your next favorite App...

CDRWWW first DONT buy blank media off e-bay its taking to much of a chance what your getting

good media to burn games would be Taiyo Yuden ,Verbatium or Ritek or stuff that codes out as Taiyo Yuden is your buying in a store.

remember to burn at 2X max. doing games

and if you want to buy online try any of theses sites ,there all top notch.

Again besides Verbatium which are infact, Taiyo Yudens'. You will almost never have a clue about this unless you use something like DVD Identifier or DVD Info Pro, to read the Media ID off the Media in question. So it's qute posible to buy a Cake of 50 DVD's for $25(USD), or so Dollars, and get all Riteks' which are almost as good as the Taiyo Yudens'. If not as good...

Is that so then please explain this then?

Funny that looks like a Verbatim DVD-R to me?

So perhapps I should have said Verbatim has used Taiyo Yuden in the past. But again without something like the Software above you'd never know this as that info is not stated on any packageing. Much less on the Disc itself. But, on the 'Media Code Block' on the Disc itself...
