Help please with HD Advance and winning eleven 9

Hi this is my first post so sorry if i sound like newb, i have downloaded winning eleven 9 and can not get it to work with my hd advance (version 1 i think) i put it on my hard drive via the pc and i go to boot it up it just goes to a black screen.

i have used the same procedure with other games ie metal gear 3 and it worked fine, does hd advance have a problem with this game?

and is there any way i can get it to work without modifying my ps2? ie by using another load up method.

any tutorials on how to get it to work or what it takes to get it to work will be greatly appreciated.
