LiteOn lvw-5045 won't say Hello!

When I turn on my 5045 I get lines displayed instead of the usual Hello. I am not able to access anything(play,eject,record).Sometimes it will startup okay and then freeze when I am recording to a disc.I have the latest firmware update.Any help would be appreciated.Thanks!
