Everytime I put a blank cd in to copy, and then I start the burn process to copy files to a CD, everything works all good and dandy and it appears to be burning. At the very end when I go to see whats on the CD, my computer thinks sees it as a blank/curropted CD. I have a Windows XP system and am using Nero version 5.5.7.2
Is there a certain patch or something for windows xp?

I'm having trouble with version 5.5.9.9 (newer than yours) and Win2k pro (older than XP).
So I assume the version is too old for your PC did you check on Aehad site that 5.5.7.2 runs on XP?) and you'll have to upgrade Nero (cross your fingers, because many users are having problema with that).

I am not sure this mainly a Nero problem as it happens to me on rare occasions and I found that putting the CD into my DVD drive showed the contents and allowed full use. This only happened to me when I started using XP. Also I was then able to add data if I wanted to when put in the CD-R drive. My conclusion is that it must be aliens working at MS having a laugh.
PS. Nero update to V5.5.10.1b now available.

I found a way around it. What I did was burn the image itself and saved it to my desktop. I then burned the IMAGE to the cd and everything works fine. Just thought I'd mention this for others having problems.

The possibility to save stuff on the desktop is the worst thing Microsoft has done in these years. I think this is a very confusing feature..

No, no, just that unexperienced users save stuff on the desktop and then are unable to find it because they look for it in files and folders... my father-in-law gets always mad on this issue :)

hmmmm. I find that kind of wierd you say that.... because 1, im not a f*cking unexperienced user, and also, the desktop is meant for making folders on and saving things into them... why the hell would you not use it. It has nothing to do with whether or not your a fucking unexperienced user.... think before you talk.

gtafreek, do not get upset. I say 'unexperienced users save ... and cannot find the files' .
I do NOT say that someone that saves files on the desktop is unexperienced.
I say that the unexperienced one saves on the desktop and when opens Word again (who by default browses on 'Documents' folder) and cannot find his files. Ths happened to some guys I know...

Aldaco12. You appear to have a problem with GTAfreak not reading your message. It also happens to experienced users, and yes in a perfect world we would all do everything right.
I am experienced user and I "lose" files by not being fully organised, so you are right. Notice I didn't need to swear, because I have a good command of the English language.

I personally feel I have only a 'medium' command of the engligh language, not being engish mother-tongue, but in spite of that I manage to avoid swearing, too.

I just don't see the reason for commenting on my solution. If your a moderator, then why would you need to comment on someone's sollution.... Try helping someone instead of telling stories about some "guys" you know.

gtafreak,
Our Aldaco here is the most helpful cd-r guy you find on the net. He also has a crapload of expertice. You should be pleased that a guy like him gives attention to your issue, along with the hundreds of issues shown on this forum.
So you too have some sort of a failure to communicate - it tends to happen in text-only interface. No need to get tangled to it, and certainly not on this forum room.
If you absolutely need to dis or flame people, then we have a special place for that: http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/17
