OK so I happened upon a file that is supposed to be an HDTV foreign music video but I didn't notice that the extension was '.ts'. I was wondering what software I can play this file with? I'm not sure if my monitor is HD-capable although it is flat panel. In that case is there any way I can burn it to DVD-R? Any help much appreciated.

The 'ts' usually doesn't refer to the file format, but to the video source ("telesync") and/or (*transport stream*), and isn't related to the file format.

If your file doesn't play, it's either corrupted or you are missing a codec to play it... !

Edited for typo !

now do i have to configure vlc ,or with it just play, this happens to me with alot of files, only the newer ones, i've tried all sorts of codecs/packs, had to turn off an explorer shell extension just to open files<cpu100%>. GSpot just crashes when i use that for'm. if it was just one file.....it happens to often, especially when "ts.xvid/divx" is in the name. thx
