DVDD IFO mode question?

I understand when I need to use File mode and when I can/need to use ISO mode (read and write).

When do I need to use IFO mode?

Sorry, I hit post too early.

I've read doom9's DVDD guide, but can't find any reference to VTS sets or PGC's; so what are these?

Also I've searched for IFO and IFO mode, but haven't found much there.

Theres a good description here for you, but basically it lets you choose various parts of a film instead of all of it, similar to re-author in Shrink. http://www.doom9.org/index.html?/dvddec.htm

Sorry for being half asleep, I can see you have read the same overview already. PGC is the the Program chain, and defines the order in which cells are played back from the DVD. An overview is here http://www.pioneer.co.jp/crdl/tech/dvd/4-4-e.html IFO mode will as said allow you to control what is copied from the DVD.
