Best Buy has a sale on Verbatims 25pk dvd-r for $10.00. Normally sells for $20.00 but you get a $10.00 instant rebate.
The manufacture code is MCC 01RG20 and they are made in Taiwon.
Since they are made in Taiwon, are they worth buying?
Thanks

Yes they are worth buying.

These are 100% MCC Made but manufactured in rented CMC Magnetics space in Taiwan.

I'm going to get some today!

These work great!

I have purchased 25 pack of the 16x Verbatim DVD-R (made in Taiwan) from Best Buy. I tried to copy a DVD on one of them but got an error message "no recordable media found" I write at 4x with a Sony DVD RW DW22A. I have used Fujifilm in the past and have had no problems.

If it says "Made In Japan" on the package/spindle then it is likely to be Yuden. All my Fuji DVD+R "Made In Japan" that I've bought from Best Buy are Taiyo Yuden so far.

Raptar,

Sounds like your firmware is not up to date, and that's why your
burner does not recognize this new media.

If you don't burn at 16x, why buy that media? Stick with the speed
rated media that you used in the past and you should have good results.

If you need this 16x stuff, install the firmware.

I burn at no higher than 8x and usually at 4x. My set top burns at only 2x but I always get good results on either machine with Verbatim.

Verbatim is good stuff.

Greg

The last fuji film discs i bought from best buy was a 50 pack of CD-R. They are made in japan and sit in my closet now. These were the worse cd's i ever used. After i'd burn a cd and give it a few spins, little burn marks would develop on the cd's and they wouldnt play. Maybe it was just a bad batch but i'm scared to buy any fuji film now.
