Hi- I have been running HDAdvance with a Maxtor DMax plus 9 120 GB in my ps2 successfully for 5 months.

Now when I turn it on, it loads up HDAdvance but as soon as the screen comes up, it says that HdAdvance cannot find HDD Hardware, ensure it is connected to the ps2 I have not touched ps2 the HDD and it has just suddenly done this. It made no clicking noises or no sounds of trouble.

It does do something weird though? when I turn it on, it makes a series of ascending tones that repeat twice, then tones repeat again after a 10 second pause.

I transferred the drive to my pc?. Upon boot it makes the weird tones there to.

Anyone ever heard of this? Any suggestions? I tried cleaning, and taking it out and putting it back in?
