I need to do this ASAP so I have crossed posted with another Forum to get as many options in the shortest time. I don't usually do it so please don't get angry !!!

Hi,
I recently went on a study tour and I have 1400+ digital photos that I need to urgently do the following with -

1/ Prepare a slide show presentation for the group to view the photos.

2/ Prepare a CD(s) of ALL the photos so each participant can have a copy of the photos and print the ones they want.

I guess the photos will need resizing to fit on the CD(s) and maybe also for the slide show but I want to retain the print quality if possible. Also, I don't want to have to resize each photo individually so some kind of batch processing would be good. The only other problem I have is that half of the photos have been taken in a vertical orientation and the others in a horizontal orientation so I need to do a batch processing to make them all the same.

Does anyone have any reccommendations?
I don't have a lot of time so I want something quick and easy.

How will the individuals view the slideshow? Here is the easiest way without having to do "ANY" work for your slideshow "IF" you're going to present it by use of a PC/Laptop on a screen for all to see (i.e. projector).
* Create a folder in your PC and name it whatever (the study tour). Transfer all the pictures to that folder. Right click on the solder's icon, Click properties and then go to Customize. Just below that you will see the queston; What kind of flder do you want? Hit the drop down box and select pictures, click o.k. When you enter the folder, in the top left you will see an option that says "VIEW AS A SLIDESHOW". That's the best way for the least time consumning on your part and preserving the quality of your pictures.

As for the CDs, how many people are we talking about. You could easily utilize a DVD-R (make it a data disc) and I'm sure that all the pic would fit if you're have issues with a CD-R. All you need to do is transfer copy that same folder you made for the slideshow over to the disc, burn it, and continue until you've created all the copies needed.

Thank you.
Very simple and would probably do the job (except for resizing and orientation).
What would be the next step up (e.g using software).
Any reccommendations?

Well, for what you need to do, no resizing is needed. Now if it's a must you could you a program like Paint Shop Pro or Adobe Photoshop.
