manybe you connected the wires wrong, causing a minor short circuit to happen. Check the forum, i think others have asked about this.

Bad burn can be too, it tries to read many times, so it stops and starts motor frequently. thats the clicking noise.
Is that buzzing noise from cube or tv speakers?

I play whit out the case (will buy a new case for full size disks today) ut i don think that that has any bad effects? if i chould describe the "clicking noise" its like when you put an a cd in the cube, its like that noise but louder. the buzzing noise is from the cube, its like its going on high speed almost all the time.
I think that the burning is bad because sometimes theres almost none clicking noise and sometimes it comes more often.
yeah, swedish chiks are wery nice ;)

Then it could be short-circuit like boki said, check if there is dropped tin somewhere on circuits, or check around power cord plug.

Coolingplate? it's heat sink.
Plastic touching to metal, that wont do any sound =D

i know but i meant if the metal from the wire is tutching the heatsink.
And when i look att the laser (or pot, i dont know) it seams like its trynig to read from the outside and in towords the disk but cant read so it jumps back.

I just backed up Sonic and all was working well for about a week but now I have started to hear the clicking and the game evenually freezes. I am using full size dvd's at the moment so the cover is off my gc and the clicking is the lazer mechanism suddenly moving from one place to the other. I think it may actually be hitting off the outer most part of the drive. Almost as if its trying to move the lazer to a position outside the drives capabilities (could this be a result of a ported full size dvd drive)? So my guess is that its either a bad burn or the disk gets dirty and is a result of a bad read. Other games are ok at the moment and I have backed up about 10 so far. Now I'm off to try out the cheapest mini dvd's I could find.... £5 for 25 (not setting my expectations to high tho)!

Arg. Clearly 5 for 25 was just a bit too cheap. Not only do the disk not work but the quality of the disks was really bad. So I've just ordered a full size cover instead for £18 including postage :) Since I already have a brand that works for full size disks so I think I will stick with that :)
