Never use Nero to encode!! Use TMPGEnc to create a vcd then nero to burn it. In TMPGEnc just click file - project wizard and create a vcd! http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/tmpgenc.cfm

If it wont open the file and says its unsupported then get virtualdub http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/video_tools/virtualdub.cfm

Then open the file in virtualdub, click video - direct stream copy, click audio and click full processing mode, click audio again and compression, select no compression pcm and click ok. now click file - save avi. The saved avi should have no trouble with nero!

Try the trick thing I posted about virtualdub! if it says unsupported then the most probable cause is the audio!

this is the same as i have.. someone posted a reply to mine about having the wrong codex installed on my pc (i havent tried getting the new ones yet)... theyre .avi files which im trying to burn to vcd... nero says unsupported file type.. and in TMPGENC it says unsupported file type also... i also found that in media player, it was only playing the audio part of the file, and not the video..

so yeah, try getting the current DivX codecs...

Go to your start menu, find it and run "run me first" to install the codec. You definetly need that codec!

Convert it to VCD format using something like TMPGEnc and then use something like nero to burn it!
