My ripped movies play fine on my PC but wont play at all or "get stuck" on my Sony DVD (multiformat) player. DVDs burned on other burners suffer the same symptoms. My Sony is older and that may be the cause of my problem, but 6 months ago all was well. It doesn't matter what disc format I use. Anyway since I'm not using 8x DVDs I thought the problem might be the copy speed and set Shrink 3.2 to 1x burn rate. When the DVD was burning, I noticed the message window said burning at 4x ( not the 1x I anticipated). I confirmed the 1x burn rate on Shrink. Suggestions? Thanks very much.

Some discs and some burners cannot write at 1x. Try updating the firmware of your Burner and check if the disk are able to burn that slow.
