Apologies if this is a basic question:

I have a slimline ps2 that plays dvdr's i've made, cdr's recorded as an audio disc, but not video cds (all burned using Nero). I've also burned some cue/bin images to cdr - of software intended for ps2, but these wont load either (ps2 says: "please enter a ps2 disc". I don't have the full version of Action Replay (just game-specific versions), nor do i have swap magic.

What i wanna ask is - why does AR cds (etc.) and audio cdr's run on my NON-MODDED ps2, but not other cdrs i make? - is their a piece of software i can download to be able to burn and play my cdrs (video and cue/bin formatted) ????

Any help would be great thanks.

hi,

Im pretty sure that ps2 doesn't ever run video cd's (VCD). It will run audio cd's with no prob, but it wont run the cds with software because it a security thing...sony doesnt want people playing backup games. u need a mod chip or swap magic probably!

Thanks for your advice ghost101 - i'll buy swap magic. I wonder why AR does run though, just trying to work out why.!? - something in the way the cd is formatted maybe.
