when i push the reset button for my ps2 the green light comes on but nothing shows up on the screen. it is connected right, and sometimes it freezes as soon as it starts.

More information is required. Is the PS2 modified? Is a disc inside the PS2? Has the PS2 ever been opened before?

The PS2 is not modified, there is a disk inside the PS2, but i can easily take it out and it does not make a difference. The PS2 has never been opened before.

how are you making your connection to your tv? its possible its just a bad A/V cable or HUB.. or just a bad connection

No, it is definitely connected properly and sometimes it manages to go 2 seconds into the startup screen. Whenever i start the PS2, there is a slight change in the colour of the tv (still black)
